New Technology that can help the blind

Of all of the disabilities in the world, blindness can be one of the most difficult ones to deal with. Whether a person is born blind or loses their sight at some later point in their lifetime, the inability to see can make everything a person does more challenging. Of course, challenges are meant to be overcome, and we all admire those who rise above the most difficult challenges

There are many different technologies for blind and visually impaired people available.

B-Touch Mobile Phone

The B-Touch mobile phone takes the iPhone touchscreen revolution a step ahead by incorporating innovate features to make a touchscreen cellphone for the blind. Limitation of senses does not hinder the sensitivity of this phone coz it combines technologies of blind-touch screen (Braille), voice systems and programs to function as regular phone, navi-system, book reader and object recognizer.

Color Sensor

The Bright-F Color Sensor can help the blind “see” colors by associating each color with a particular sound – a huge help when sorting laundry or picking outfits.

Navigation Bracelet

This looks like a modern piece of plastic jewelry is actually a navigation system that uses GPS, voice commands and audio and haptic feedback to provide the blind with a level of independence that is currently impossible for many.
impossible for many.

Braille e-book Reader

Braille E-book is a conceptual design of a digital and portable e-book reader, developed by Korean industrial designers. This is quite certain that by seeing the design, everyone will admire that this gadget is really necessary for reading e-books. However, e-books of Braille compatible version are not much available on the market because of the higher price. EAP is the mother technology that can develop special patterns on the plastic surface by raising those elements with an electronic signal. This unique technology used by Braille E-Book can translate the content into Braille

Braille Polaroid Camera

Touching an object may help a blind person get a sense of what it is, but unlike the sighted, they can’t use photographs to capture and keep memories. The Braille Polaroid Camera, however, acts as an instant braille printer, translating the basic shape of an object into texture so that the blind can collect “images” in an album.

Braille Rubik's Cube

Braille Rubik's Cube is an attempt to adjust this timeless toy to the needs of blind persons - the haptic experience make them “feel“ the colors. The first letters of the color are written on the cube in braille in the order of the colors on the original cube. The totally white cube makes it impossible to solve the cube without being able to read braille. It will be as difficult for people who can see as it is to solve the regular cube for a blind person. This concept of the cube is fun for blind people and strengthen the awareness how difficult things are, if you are not able to see.
